“I actually got an apprenticeship in the pattern trade in high school and I worked in the pattern trade for about 50 years,” Thomas Braun shared. “It didn’t deal with this type of turning… but in 2007, I bought my lathe and got started.”
An annual car show that attracts thousands of enthusiasts to Auburn every year, continues with some of its most well-known events heading into the weekend. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg (ACD) Festival is ‘in the spotlight’ this week.
“Because I love painting people so much, I’m going to do a project on how many different kinds of people live in Fort Wayne,” artist Hilarie Couture told us. “Being new here, I didn’t know how I was going to find these people. But, word of mouth, one person tells another person and then it build. Now, I have 50 slated to be painted, and I’ve already finished about 43 of them."
“None of us actually predicted or tried to turn this band into what it is today,” tenor sax player Takoda Collins said of Los Galaxy. “We were all just doing it for fun.” This weekend, they plan to play their popular funk set at the Three Rivers Festival Concert.
ABC21 announced that longtime local broadcaster Terra Brantley will appear on the television station and its digital properties as a regular contributor and as host of a weekly segment focused on local culture and entertainment. “In the Spotlight” expands the partnership between ABC21 and 89.1 WBOI - Northeast Indiana Public Radio, where Brantley is president and general manager.
