Vince Lovergine

Vince Lovergine joined the WPTA team in August 2020 as a multimedia journalist.

He is from Lake in The Hills, IL a northwest suburb outside of Chicago. Vince is a proud alum of Eastern Illinois University’s graduating class of May 2020 where he earned his B.A. in Journalism.

Vince worked for Eastern Illinois University’s TV Station, WEIU News Watch, as a sports/news anchor and reporter for their nightly live 30-minute newscast. He also worked on campus; as an On-Air personality at Hit-Mix 88.9 WEIU, as a sports reporter for The Daily Eastern Newspaper and did play-by-play for various Eastern Illinois University sports over the Ohio Valley Conference Digital Network.

While in college, Vince won several awards from; NATAS Mid-America Student Awards for Excellence (Sports), Illinois News Broadcasters Association (Sports) and the Illinois Broadcasters Association (Radio).

Vince interned at NBC Sports Chicago in the Summer of 2018 as a Digital/Multi-Platform Intern where he was a sportswriter for their website.

He was the Vice President of Eastern Illinois University’s Chapter of the Society of Collegiate Journalists and a member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

He found his love for journalism in high school where he started doing play-by-play his junior and senior years for their varsity baseball and basketball teams “live” on YouTube.

In his free time, you catch Vince listening to Rock and Roll music, being outdoors, traveling and watching sports, especially the White Sox. He’s an avid Chicago sports fan and loves being with family and friends.
