Tony Betton Jr.

Tony Betton Jr. joined us in January 2020 as the weekend morning anchor, producer and weekday reporter for ABC21.

Tony is an native of Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Georgia State University ('19) where he studied broadcast journalism, public relations and entertainment media management.

Before coming to ABC21, Tony was a studio production intern for ABC News' Good Morning America in NYC. While in school, Tony completed internships with Channel 2 Action News (WSB-TV), the Boys and Girls Clubs of America Headquarters, AABJ’s In Contact as an associate producer, Ryan Seacrest Studios, The Historic King Center for Nonviolent Social Change & FOX 5 Atlanta (WAGA).

Tony is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity Inc. He also served as a founding member of the GSU chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, where he served as chapter president and 2-timed VP of Broadcast.

In addition to Tony co-anchoring ABC21's two and a half hour weekday morning show, he also anchors and produces the noon broadcast. In addition to anchoring and producing, Tony creates special reports for ABC21 News at 7. He also runs the station's Instagram (@ABC21_WPTA).

When he is not reporting, you may find Tony volunteering in the community, hosting special events, public speaking, finding more ways to build his brand and hanging out with friends and family. He also loves to inspire others in finding their passions and following their dreams.
