ELWOOD, Ind. (WPTA) - A procession was held Friday morning for the fallen Elwood officer, Noah Shahnavaz, who was recently killed in the line of duty.

The procession took off Friday morning, carrying Shahnavaz to Fishers for the visitation that is planned for Friday afternoon.

The Elwood police department announced on Wednesday that the officer’s visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 5, at ITOWN Church, 12491 E 136th Street in Fishers. The funeral will be Saturday, August 6, at 11 a.m. at the same Fishers church. Officials say any police officers planning to attend are asked to begin arriving at 8:30 a.m. At the conclusion of the funeral, they say Officer Shahnavaz will be escorted to Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis for internment.

42-year-old Carl Roy Webb Boards II is charged with four counts stemming from the shooting death of 24-year-old Shahnavaz on Sunday, July 31. The shooting happened during an attempted traffic stop. Court documents say Board fired 36 rounds before the officer could unholster his own gun.
