Doctors testify on Indiana abortion bill as House considers changes
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Indiana House of Representatives gets its turn debating a near-total abortion ban after the Senate passed the measure last week. State representatives are considering amendments that would substantially alter the bill passed by the Senate.
On Tuesday, physicians testified about the bill. Most were vehemently opposed to abortion restrictions, arguing that abortion is essential healthcare that saves lives. That’s a view supported by the vast majority of the healthcare community. A doctor from Fort Wayne spoke in favor of abortion restrictions.
On Tuesday’s News at 7, Tom Powell explained the differing opinions.
