FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - After weeks of afternoon temperatures swinging from the upper 70s to the mid 90s, the weather pattern will start to, mostly, mellow out this week.

Sunday afternoon will be one of the best days of the next 7 days. Hardly a cloud in the sky, temperatures in the low 80s with lower humidity will make for a nice day to spend outside.

On Monday, a bit of heat and humidity returns to the area. We’ll see temperatures climb into the upper 80s.

With the increase in heat and moisture in the air as winds shift out of the southwest. It’ll add fuel to the atmosphere for the potential of one or two thunderstorms to pop-up as a cold front starts to move through late Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Rain chance lingers into early Tuesday morning, but sunshine returns for the afternoon and we’ll see mostly clear skies for the rest of the week. Temperatures will be in the mid 80s through Friday.
