Daughter remembers mother killed during fight
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - On Thursday, the Allen County coroner’s office declared a woman’s death to be a homicide. That woman was 57-year-old Teresa Pratt.
As the coroner reported, Pratt was killed in a fight when someone pinned her to the ground by sitting on her. Johnson struggled to breathe and lost consciousness. Doctors couldn’t save her. Her daughter opened up to ABC21′s Tom Powell.
“I didn’t expect to have to bury her so soon,” Heather Johnson told ABC21′s Tom Powell during an interview on Thursday. Johnson explained that her mother struggled with mental health issues, but she never expected to lose her in such a manner.
“I knew she and another person were having altercations, so I tried to get awareness to some people who could intervene and do something. But apparently, it was too little too late,” Johnson said.
