FW Parks and Rec responds to storm damage, closes golf courses
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation crews have been working throughout the night to clear debris and downed trees, the department said Wednesday.
Crews cleared roads and responded to reports of tree-related debris while clearing street trees on houses. Park administrators are monitoring the situation and ask the public to not enter areas where barricades are in place. Due to the high volume of storm-related failures, they ask that tree-related debris be reported through 311 calls.
All three park department golf courses and several trails are closed today. Some facilities and programs are also closed, including the Lifetime Sports Academy. The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation and Parkview Sports Medicine Junior Golf Tour have been postponed until Monday, July 11 at the original tee times, the department said.
