FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Cloud cover in the afternoon on Saturday kept the high temperature only slightly lower than forecasted, but with very little cloud cover on Sunday, we’ll warm up quickly.
A warm airmass will continue to approach us, and with very little cloud cover, we’ll see quite the warm up. High temperatures in the afternoon on Sunday will be in the upper 80s, low 90s. Fortunately, there’s not too much moisture in the area, so it won’t feel too muggy.
That’s a different story for the July 4th holiday. Humidity will start to increase and high temperatures are expected to be in the 90s for most everyone across 21 Country. We should see mostly dry weather for area fireworks shows, but one or two isolated rain showers may pop-up late Monday evening, so do be aware.
Overnight into Tuesday morning is when our first round of rain moves in. It could even bring with it a strong thunderstorm or two. Rain will be hit and miss on Tuesday, with less rain anticipated on Wednesday. Then, we’ll see one or two more rounds move through before we get to next weekend.
