Hyde Brothers celebrates 30 years in Fort Wayne
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A staple bookstore in Fort Wayne is turning 30 this weekend.
Hyde Brothers Booksellers, located off Wells Street, will celebrate the milestone with different sales and festivities from Thursday, June 30, through Sunday, July 2. A midnight sale is planned for Friday, July 1, where patrons can shop at a discount and peruse the stacks until 1 a.m. Humane Fort Wayne will also be at Friday’s event to accept pet-related donations.
They’re officially celebrating their 30-year mark on Saturday, July 2, with live music and are encouraging attendees to visit the other small businesses in the Wells Street Corridor. Sunday, July 3, is “Family Day”, where visitors can find fun activities like face painting and balloon animals.
The bookstore was originally started in 1992 by Sam and Joel Hyde, and continues to be a place for bookworms in the Summit City three decades later. The two-story book store offers over 150,000 titles and an added bonus—shop cats Scout and Sherlock.
