UPDATE: Around 10:15 a.m., Indiana State Police Sgt. Scott Keegan said the suspect is in custody.

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WPTA) - Authorities are looking for a man they named a person of interest in Thursday’s deadly stabbing on Whitelock St.

Police were called to the 600 block of Whitelock St. in Huntington around 7:30 p.m. Thursday on reports of a stabbing. They initially said one person was killed and three others hurt. The other victims were rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Then Friday morning, the Huntington County Coroner’s Office confirmed that a second victim has died from their injuries. The victims’ names have not yet been released.

On Facebook, the Huntington City Police Department said James Lee Bonewits left the scene before police arrived and should be considered armed and dangerous. They describe him as being 6′3″ with brown hair, blue eyes and a beard. He was believed to be driving a 2006 silver Chevy Impala with license plate number: DH22225.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department said Bonewits abandoned that car on Madison County Road 1550 North, west of State Road 9, before his suspected crimes were known to local police. Bonewits is now believed to be on foot and may still be in the Madison County area. They ask that anyone with information on his location please call 911 immediately.
