FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Salvation Army is looking for donations to help families beat the heat with its Operation Cool Breeze program.

Officials say the program provides fans and air conditioners to those who are low-income with critical medical conditions or families with elderly and infants. Over 20 area families have been assisted by the program so far this summer, but they say the supplies are almost gone and there’s a long waitlist for help.

To help out, they say new fans and air conditioners can be dropped off at The Salvation Army office, at 2901 N. Clinton St., Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also make a monetary donation at that office or online here. Officials say to please indicate that the funds are for “Operation Cool Breeze.”
