VAN WERT, Ind. (WPTA) - Law enforcement authorities in Van Wert executed a search warrant Monday on a property suspected of housing an illegal drug operation.

The Van Wert Police Department said its officers -- and members of the sheriff’s office -- carried out the action Monday afternoon in the 600 block of East Main Street. The search of the property, police said, turned up a variety of hallucinogenic substances, including LSD, Dimethyltrptamine (DMT) and what was described as “a suspected very large Psilocybin Mushroom grow operation.”

A loaded handgun and “a large sum of money” were also confiscated.

The substances taken from the location are being analyzed by a lab and the results will be turned over to prosecutors for review.
