FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The City of Fort Wayne is offering two cooling stations for those who need a place to beat the extreme heat over the next couple of days.

Humidity on Tuesday could make it feel like 100 degrees or more across the area, and anyone who needs a cool space is welcome to visit the lobby of the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory downtown. The conservatory, located at 1100 S. Calhoun St., will serve as a cooling station from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Salvation Army, located at 2901 N. Clinton St., is also offering a cool space from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

Additionally, officials at The Rescue Mission say the shelter is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 404 E. Washington Blvd. for anyone who needs a safe place to go. They say the facility is open year-round to anyone in need of shelter or meals, which are served three times each day.
