FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Juneteenth celebrations are underway in the Summit City and across the country, commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S.

The Art Center has been celebrating Juneteenth all week long with Macknificent Freedom Fest and the festivities continued Saturday at McMillen Park. Some of the activities included workout dances, bounce houses for the kids, and different black-owned businesses and non-profits in the Summit City.

If you weren’t able to make it out Saturday, the festivities will continue Sunday. Doctor Joy Derguy will host a free racial healing trauma zoom conference from 12:30 to 4:30. You can find a registration link here and how you can get involved next year.
