FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A very humid and hot air mass will move over us later today bringing the potential for storms across the region. Storms will be possible across parts of the Great Lakes region but the exact location and timing is yet to be determined.

This morning will be quiet although humid. Temperatures warm this afternoon and evening as a ridge spreads over the region. The ridge should inhibit storms initially but the atmosphere is primed for storms locally across 21Country if there is a trigger or wave of energy passes over our area. The uncertainty with the forecast is whether our area will see a wave or if they develop elsewhere.

Severe weather is possible in any wave that does develop, with dangerous wind gusts the primary threat although hail and tornadoes can’t be ruled out.

Again, there is a LOT of uncertainty surrounding the development, track, and intensity of these storms. Stay with ABC21 for the latest.
