Leo takes Plymouth boys golf regional title, Opliger wins playoff for medalist

PLYMOUTH, Ind. (WPTA) - Leo’s boys golf team advances to the state finals, after winning the regional at Swan Lake.
The Lions finished with a team score of 295. Warsaw and Penn each finished with 298 points, and both schools will also advance to the finals next week.
Lions golfer Wes Opliger earned medalist on Thursday, beating teammate Justin Hicks and Carroll’s Hunter Melton in a one-hole playoff. Opliger, Hicks, and Melton each shot a two-under 70 during their round.
Melton advances in the state tournament as an individual, along with Fairfield’s Brayden Miller and Manchester’s Owen Kruschwitz.
