Huntington North holds ribbon cutting ceremony at new stadium
HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WPTA) - Huntington North celebrated its new stadium Thursday evening, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The school’s wrapping up work now on the ‘multi-purpose outdoor facility.’ The venue will host several Vikings sports teams, including soccer and football.
Jeremy Markham, HCCSC superintendent, called the facility a big upgrade over Kriegbaum Field, which had a number of safety issues, and was located off campus, making it inaccessible during the school day.
“It’s very exciting,” Markham said. “It really started about three, four years ago, when we started taking visits to other facilities. Now, to finally see it come to fruition, we’re really excited for all the students who are going to be able to use this.”
Physical education classes and the ROTC will also get to use the stadium, and it will host certain community events.
