FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Summit City’s celebration of the street performer is set to return to downtown on Saturday, May 21, after two years off.

BuskerFest is a mix of performing artists like living statues, aerialists, fire dancers, magicians, jugglers, mimes, painters, musicians, balloon artists, and more. The event transforms Wayne and Calhoun Streets into an event space for the community.

The festival was last held in 2019 as COVID-19 concerns caused the 2020 and 2021 events to be called off. Officials say various local, regional, and national acts will perform at the Busker Central Pitch, located at the intersection of Wayne and Calhoun Streets. Attendees can also catch live music at the intersection of Berry and Calhoun Streets.

The 11th BuskerFest is set for Saturday from 3 - 9 p.m. The family-friendly event features special guest appearances from favorites like Cinderella, and the evening will be finished with Pyroscope’s live-fire dancers from 8:30 – 9 p.m. Admission and street parking are free, however, attendees are encouraged to tip buskers. Visit the event website for more details.
