FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The sound of gunshots rang out on the City’s southeast side Wednesday morning, but no injuries were reported.

Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) officers were called to the 2200 block of Reed Street just before 11:30 a.m. to a report of gunshots. Witnesses told police that multiple people were running from the scene. Police say witnesses told officers the suspects could be inside a home in the 1500 block of Pontiac Street. Police questioned several people but no arrests were made.

Bullet casings were found at the corner of Creighton and Holton avenues thanks to the help of media, police said.

Area schools were locked down during the incident, police said. They ask that anyone with information please call FWPD at 260-427-1201, Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867, or use the anonymous free P3 tips app.
