Blackhawk Christian coach Davidson passes away after lengthy cancer fight

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Monday evening, Blackhawk Christian School shared the news of the death of teacher and basketball coach Marc Davidson.

Davidson had battled through a terminal cancer diagnosis for the last couple of years.

Davidson spent 11 as a high school basketball head coach in Indiana, the last nine at Blackhawk Christian. His Braves teams won state championships in 2019 and 2021.

Despite his failing health, Davidson stayed committed to the program, continuing to lead the team until the end of this past season. Last month, the school named Davidson head coach emeritus of the boys basketball program.

Davidson and his wife Lisa have seven children.

A service is planned for noon on Saturday, May 14, at Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 E. State Blvd., with calling starting at 10 a.m. Visitation is planned for Friday, May 13, from noon to 8 p.m. in the Blackhawk Christian High School Gymnasium Door #3.
