Northern Indiana softball coach accused of sexual relationship with child
ST. JOSEPH COUTNY, Ind. (WNDU) – A northern Indiana softball coach is facing multiple felony charges after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
45-year-old Michael Feltz’s charges include child molesting, sexual misconduct with a minor, possession of child pornography, and inappropriate communication with a child.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the mother of the victim filed a sex abuse report with the South Bend Police Department on March 27, in which the victim reported having a sexual relationship with Feltz, who was her travel league softball head coach.
In a forensic interview held a few days later, the victim disclosed that she and Feltz began to have sexual intercourse back in October 2021 when she was 13 years old. The last sexual contact reportedly took place on March 25.
Meanwhile, investigators later discovered text messages between Feltz and the victim that were sexual in nature and contained sexually explicit photographs sent by both parties.
According to MyCase, Feltz is expected to appear in court for an initial hearing on April 21.
