FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - War is hell. But war also puts up a mirror so that we might examine what it means to be human.

A man who grew up in Fort Wayne used his photographic gifts to tell the stories of refugees fleeing devastation in Ukraine. Peter Turnley made it very clear to ABC21 that the story is not about him. Instead, it’s about the people he documented as they rushed to safety. He spoke with Tom Powell on ABC 21 News at 7.

A man who grew up in Fort Wayne has seen history unfold over the decades. His latest project explores humanity under the most terrifying of conditions.
