FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) -The state’s former school superintendent does not mince words about public education and the politics she believes are getting in the way. As a former Republican herself, Jennifer McCormick’s words are particularly sharp and have many wondering if she harbors fresh political ambitions.

On Thursday, McCormick headlined a fundraiser and rally for Allen County Democrats. She opened up to ABC21 News at 7 about the state’s education system, her disagreements with the Republican majority and her potential political future.

She was Indiana's top teacher but grew discontent with education policy. Now she's taking on the GOP and could run for governor.
