Huntington Catholic School to go virtual amid uptick in COVID-19 cases
HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WPTA) - Huntington Catholic School is joining other area schools in temporarily moving to e-learning amid an increase in positive COVID-19 cases.
School officials said in a letter that roughly 35% of students there were absent on Monday. They say after consulting with the Catholic Schools Office, they made the decision to go virtual from Tuesday, Jan. 18, through Friday, Jan. 21. The letter says athletics at the school will also be canceled for the week.
“Please keep in mind that all of the decisions made today were made with the overall safety of our students, staff and school community coming first. Please continue to stay patient and flexible as we navigate a very challenging 2021-22 school year” the letter says.
