FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The results of at-home COVID-19 tests will be accepted by Southwest Allen County Schools, district officials said Monday evening. The guidance means the district will now accept results from PCR, antigen or at-home tests.

In a message to families on Monday, district leaders blamed supply chain issues for the limited availability of tests from the Allen County Department of Health. That problem moved administrators to announce the new policy, which is effective immediately.

Under the new policy, the results will be submitted by taking a photo of the test result and emailing it to the child’s school. If the test is positive, parents are to keep the photo and a copy of the test result for 90 days to aid in possible contact tracing. District officials said they do not keep copies of vaccine records or test results.
