Komets fall flat in first game of 2022

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Komets calendar year got off to a rough start Wednesday night, with a 7-2 loss to Toledo.

The Walleye opened up the scoring just eight seconds after the game started, with a goal from Keeghan Howdeshell.

The Komets responded with a short-handed score later in the period. After that, Toledo scored six unanswered goals.

Anthony Petruzzelli added the K’s second and final goal in the final minutes of the third.

Prior to Wednesday night’s game, the Komets named Petruzzelli their new captain.
