FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Allen County Coroner has identified the woman killed in a hit-and-run on Christmas Eve.

The coroner says 90-year-old Ruth Beyer of Fort Wayne died when she was hit by a car that fled the scene.

Fort Wayne Police PIO Paul Meitz said she had just been in a minor car crash on South Anthony Boulevard near the Menards store. When she walked across the street to exchange information with the other driver, a car hit her. It did not stop. Beyer died on the street shortly before 6:00 pm.

Police believe the suspect car is a black sedan, possibly a Dodge Charger or Challenger. There may be front-end and windshield damage.
