FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Northeast Indiana Make-A-Wish Council hopes those looking for the perfect gift will help bring joy to local children while they shop.

The organization this weekend launched its seasonal “pop-up shop” at Jefferson Pointe. It’s located next to Bath & Body Works at the plaza-style mall, and will be open this weekend and again the following weekend.

All proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish program, which provides experiences, trips and goods to critically ill children.

“The wishes not only uplift the children but also other members of families whose lives have been turned upside down,” said Jenny Boyd, Senior Advancement Officer for Northeast Indiana Make-A-Wish. “Many families have shared with us that a child getting a wish made family members’ lives brighter and gave parents hope as they tackled the physical and psychological challenges of caring for the child.”

The Northeast Indiana Make-A-Wish Council serves Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Miami, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties. The shop opened on Friday, and remaining dates and hours are:

  • Saturday, December 4: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 5: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Friday, December 10: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 11: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 12: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The Make-A-Wish pop-up shop will be open in Fort Wayne through Dec. 12, 2021.
