This ‘Black Friday,’ Hoosiers encouraged to explore the outdoors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Skip the malls and enjoy the Indiana outdoors. That’s the message from the state’s Department of Natural Resources this “Black Friday.”

The agency is offering free admission at all the properties it manages on Friday, Nov. 26 -- and is providing some added incentive via a contest that with prizes that include annual passes, lake permits, Outdoor Indiana subscriptions, Smokey Bear materials, gift cards and DNR staff-led outdoor experiences.

“Being able to spend time outdoors at one of our DNR properties any time of the year helps make you a winner, but we are glad to offer free admission and these great prizes to add to your outdoor experience as you #optoutside on Black Friday,” DNR Director Dan Bortner said.
