FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Indiana Department of Health announced Friday that it will begin offering booster doses of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

In a news release, ISDH said the decision comes following Thursday’s authorization from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Pfizer boosters have been available in Indiana since late September.

The Pfizer and Moderna boosters are recommended six months or more after the initial series for those over 65 years old, adults in long-term care settings, adults with underlying medical conditions and those who work or live in high-risk settings.

Booster doses for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are recommended for anyone over 18 years old who got their single J&J dose two or more months ago.

Current CDC recommendations allow for mixing and matching.

Those who want to get a booster can register at ourshot.in.gov.
