FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Governor Holcomb’s mask mandate has expired, leaving health restrictions up to local governments and businesses. Next week, the Coliseum will host The Home & Garden show from April 15 to April 18. So will masks be required?

The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum is owned by Allen county, and county leaders say masks will be required in county buildings. However, the Coliseum says masks are “recommended,” while individual clients may choose to require masks in their event spaces.

The Home & Garden show says they will follow the Coliseum’s lead.

A recommendation is not a requirement. Since the building is owned by the county, we wanted clarification and called the county commissioners office. Soon they called back, telling us that masks could not be required at the Home & Garden Show, but other events may choose differently.

While masks will not be required at The Home & Garden Show, they’ll take other precautions.

Until more people are vaccinated, Randy Brown at the Coliseum continues to urge others to wear masks.
