2 victims identified from Thursday night shooting

UPDATE: Two of the victims from Thursday night's shooting have been identified.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said the male victim was identified as 41-year-old Jason Sandy. He was last listed in critical condition. The female victim has been identified as 33-year-old Rachel Burtz. She was last listed in serious condition.

The third victim will be identified by the Allen County Coroner's office.


UPDATE: The Fort Wayne Police Department tells ABC21 News that a total of three people were shot inside a home in the 800 block of Madison St. Thursday around 9:12 p.m.

Investigators responded to a reported shooting, finding one man dead in the home. A man and woman were also shot, but ran from the home until police later found them.

First responders determined the male victim was in critical condition, while the female victim had serious injuries. Investigators believe some sort of disturbance turned violent.

Officers blocked off the entire 800 block of Madison St. after learning a possible suspect may be hiding inside one of the homes. Police searched a home next door to the crime scene but did not find any other victims or suspects.

Authorities continue to comb the area for potential evidence and witnesses.  Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
