Lagrange police arrest man after Facebook live threats

LaGrange police tazed and arrested a man after he threatened to harm officers while intoxicated on a Facebook live stream. 

The Lagrange County police said that on Thursday, Aug. 9, they were contacted about a man making threats towards law enforcement personnel on Facebook live videos.  

Police said based on information from a tipster, they were able to determine the man was Jeremy Jones, 41. Police said they believed he was possibly intoxicated, and willing to act upon the said threats to harm law enforcement.  

The Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team then went to Jones' home in the 7100 block of W 680 S to take him into custody. 

Before the team arrived, officers were told he was firing shots.  

When they arrived to the scene, Jones reportedly failed to comply with Officer Commands and was tazed and taken safely into custody. No one was injured during this incident.
He is facing preliminary charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, criminal confinement, and misuse of 911.
