Adaptive Sports Nationals in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA 21) -

Nearly 300 disabled athletes from across the United States have gathered in Fort Wayne.

They are competing in the 2018 Adaptive Sports USA Junior Nationals competition taking place July 22-27. 

All participating athletes must qualify in order to be eligible to compete in this premier junior competition for young athletes with disabilities. Many of the young athletes will be seeking to break national records and have their eyes set on future Paralympic Games competition.unior competition for young athletes with disabilities. Elite junior athletes will compete in eight sports disciplines including track, field, swimming, table tennis, powerlifting, archery, air rifle, and paratriathlon.

Competition will take place at Summit Middle School Natatorium. Brown Natatorium, Plassman Athletic Center at Turnstone, Homestead High School, and the X-Count Shooting Range.
