A Fort Wayne man serving time in a state prison has died after he was attacked by another offender.
The Pendleton Correctional Facility put out a release Thursday saying Ezekiel Jones died Wednesday afternoon of an apparent stab wound. The warden said he was found laying on his back with an injury to his neck just before 10 Wednesday morning.
He was transported to the facility's health care center for treatment before being transported to an Indianapolis hospital. He was pronounced dead just after 2 Wednesday afternoon at the hospital.
Jones was serving on two counts of robbery and one count of murder. He had a projected release date of 2042.
