An Indiana man was arrested Wednesday evening after police say he threw gasoline on his girlfriend and set her on fire.
According to RTV6, police responded to a home near the 8700 block of N. 95 E., in Burrows, Indiana, around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4.
Officers say they believe 44-year-old Robert Randall Nethercutt threw gasoline onto his 41-year-old female domestic partner who lived with him before setting her on fire.
The woman was able to extinguish herself before medics arrived who then took her to St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo. She was treated and released that evening.
Nethercutt was then taken into police custody. Police say they believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
