Police have identified the skeletal remains found in a rural LaGrange County field.
ABC21 previously reported the Indiana State Police said the remains were found by a property owner near 950 East and 350 South in the early-morning hours of April 8. Immediate identification of the body was not immediately available due to the level of decomposition.
DNA testing along with an anthropological exam was conducted to determine the manner of death and to determine the person’s identity. This investigation helped identify the remains as 47-year-old Tiffany A. Huffman, who had been reported as a missing person and had last been seen in the Stroh, Indiana area on July 20, 2012.
The LaGrange County Coroner has not determined a cause of death, but at this time, foul play is not suspected. The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, LaGrange County Coroner’s Office, Stroh Fire and Rescue, Indiana Search and Response Team, and University of Indianapolis Forensic Anthropologist Team are assisting Detective David Poe with this investigation.
