Less than three weeks after a 7th-grader opened fire inside a Noblesville middle school, the district is ramping up its security.
The school board announced the security upgrades at a meeting Tuesday. Those upgrades include eliminating all portable classrooms, adding a trained police officer in every school in the district and classroom barricading products. The district says the improvements were already in the works before the May 25th school shooting.
The accused shooter, a student, now faces multiple charges in juvenile court.
