Indiana's governor is planning a visit to the Summit City.
Governor Eric Holcomb will join Walmart executives and local dairy farmers Wednesday morning to celebrate opening Walmart's new milk processing plant. Construction started in 2016 and is expected to create 300 more jobs and work with 30 local farmers to supply the plant, which will supply milk for nearly 500 Walmart stores across the Midwest.
Holcomb will also be attending the grand opening of the Bowen Recovery Center at 4 pm. Wednesday. He'll be joined by the mayor, top members at Bowen, and the Indiana executive director of drug prevention, treatment and enforcement to recognize the new opioid treatment program.
The Bowen team says that the recovery center will offer on-site individual and group outpatient counseling, an on-site resource room, and will be working with the center for behavioral health to maximize community access to methadone as an opioid use disorder solution.
