Police are investigating a stabbing on South Hanna that left a woman in critical condition.
On Wednesday, June 6, around 5:50 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 4500 block of South Hanna St. in reference to a stabbing investigation.
When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from lacerations. Paramedics treated the victim and took her to a local hospital where she was initially listed in serious condition. She was later downgraded to critical condition.
Police have identified the victim as 38-year-old Dominica S. Rogers.
Police say there was some type of disturbance between two women that turned into a physical altercation. One of the women had a knife which led to the victim being cut.
Investigators transported a person of interest to the detective bureau for questioning. Police have identified the suspect as 31-year-old Jevonda Nicole White, who was arrested on charges for aggravated battery, invasion of privacy, and assault with a deadly weapon.
At the time of this report, the incident remains under investigation.
