A safety train on tour to 23 cities is making its way to Fort Wayne Wednesday.
The train is part of Norfolk Southern Railroads Operation Awareness and Response program. The program gives first responders training on railway incidents.
Over 100 local first responders will get some practice with the company's safety train, which is specially fitted with boxcars converted into classrooms, four types of tank cars, and two flatcars equipped for hands-on training.
Norfolk Southern says the free training reflects their commitment to operate safely in communities they serve.
