It's recognized as one of the best children's zoos in America and it has been the community that helped put it in the spotlight.
For the 26th year, Kroger stores in the region will participate in the fundraising partnership. During the event, Kroger customers can contribute to the zoo in increments of $1, $3 and $5. In exchange, customers will get one of three different zoo animal themed collectible sticker sheets.
Since the event began in 1993, cumulative "Zoo Day" support from Scott's and Kroger banner stores totals $1,827,726. So far in 2018, Kroger has raised slightly more than $28,000. Kroger is also donating a portion of its sales on Wednesday, May 16th, “Zoo Day.”
Customers should save their receipts from that day’s Kroger purchases. The receipt will get one child in for free Saturday, May 19 with a paying adult.
