Hundreds of runners made it out to the 10th annual Formula for Life 5k Sunday despite the wind and rain.
Formula for Life was founded by a student from the University of Saint Francis. The event raises money for helping orphans in Haiti.
In addition to the walk, the event also featured live music, awards, a silent auction and vendor booths. Event organizers say they were worried the weather might scare people away. Fortunately, that wasn't the case.
“We've been blessed with great weather for the past 6 years, so I guess it's time we got a bad day,” Bonnie Smith, a co-leader of the event said. “But it's really humbling to see so many people come out even though it's really cold, and I don't even want to be outside. So it's really awesome to see so many people here and see the support anyways."
Two scholarships were also given away to Fort Wayne high school students in need.
