FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA 21) -- A standoff with a burglary suspect ended peacefully early Saturday morning, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.
They say while investigating a burglary that happened early Friday evening, they learned that the suspect, 43-year-old Lovell Hamlet, was inside a home on the 500 block of Christopher Lane.
Initially, Hamlet refused to leave the home. At about 10:45 Friday night, officers decided to request the services of the Emergency Response Team and Crisis Response Team to help coax him out of the home.
After more than an hour of talking to negotiators over the phone, Hamlet came outside peacefully and was taken into custody.
He's charged with burglary and invasion of privacy.
Police say no injuries were reported during the standoff.
