A Fort Wayne man will appear in court Wednesday to answer several child molestation charges.
Deven Washington was arrested on March 7 after an investigation indicated he committed sex acts on three young children. During the investigation, detectives interviewed the victims at the Child Advocacy Center.
One of the children told detectives Washington performed sex acts on her. Police say he gave her crackers after he was done and told her not to tell anyone. Another victim told detectives Washington performed sex acts on her up to 10 times. She also told them she witnessed him perform sex acts on the third child.
In all of the cases, the victims told detectives Washington called them into the room and told the other victims to go upstairs and play while the sex acts happened. When police arrested Washington, he reportedly denied doing what he was accused of and requested to speak to a lawyer.
Washington was preliminarily charged with three counts of child molestation where the defendant is at least 21 years in age and four counts of child molestation with child under 14. Washington will appear in court Wednesday for his initial hearing.
