An accident involving a semi-tractor trailer and a flatbed truck resulted in the closure of the left lane of southbound I-69 for several hours on Monday.
Investigators with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department said the semi, driven by 69-year-old John C. Blevins, was trailing the flatbed too closely and swerved to avoid it. The rig struck a guardrail on the median side of the highway by mile marker 334 and flipped onto its side.
Neither Blevins nor the driver of the flatbed were injured.
The semi was ruled a total loss, with minor damage to the flatbed truck.
Normal traffic resumed on I-69 once the wreckage was cleared Monday afternoon.
