Hundreds of people filled an Ohio church Sunday to pay tribute to two police officers killed in the line of duty over the weekend.
Through hymns and prayer, people converged on the suburban Ohio community of Westerville to honor the slain officers at a vigil. Westerville officers Eric Joering and Anthony Morelli were shot and killed responding to a 9-1-1 hang-up call Saturday.
54-year-old officer Morelli was recognized as officer of the year in 2012. 39-year-old officer Joering leaves a wife and three young daughters.
A suspect in the shooting, 30-year-old Quentin Smith was charged with two counts of aggravated murder.
