FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA 21) -

A Fort Wayne deputy chief involved in an investigation will not face any charges in connection with a November incident.

The News-Sentinel reports the investigation began after a fight in the 1500 block of Millennium Crossing on November 4. The deputy police chief, Derrick Westfield, said the fight happened after he "brake checked" another vehicle.

After stopping at the address, the News-Sentinel reports Westfield claimed Adrian Lowe approached his car and started yelling at him. Westfield claimed he extended his arm and told the man to stay back and a juvenile punched him.

The juvenile had another story, the News-Sentinel reports the juvenile said Westfield cut them off. After stopping at the home, the juvenile claimed Westfield started pushing them and he only punched Westfield after he pushed Lowe.

The investigation by the Allen County Police Department. The department said because of the degree of discrepancy in all of the witness statements obtained, there was not enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime was committed.

The Allen County Prosecutor's Office reviewed the investigation and determined that no charges would be filed as a result of this incident.
