FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ABC 21) -- Fort Wayne Police say DNA tests show a string of sexual assaults that all happened in the same area can all be linked to the same man.
Two happened on the 5000 and 5200 blocks of Bowser Avenue, the other on the 4500 block of South Park Drive. Police say a man was breaking into homes during early morning hours and committing the sexual assaults.
ABC 21 spoke to a couple who claims one of the victims lives across the street from them, and the same man attempted to break into their home as well.
"Somehow my boyfriend was able to run him off and told him to not come back in this yard again," said the woman who asked us to not use her name.
They say the man came to their back door, tried to get in and when they confronted him he proclaimed he thought he was at his grandma's home and ran off.
"I've got a momma and sisters. If something like that happened to them, I don't know what I would do," said the man who asked us to not use his name.
The man says he'd recognize the man who tried breaking into their home if he saw him today.
"He had a shaved mustache, had a little goatee, beard and he was kind of about maybe 6 foot, 5'11 at the most, and he had on a brown jacket and a hoodie," said the man who asked us to not use his name.
The couple says they are taking extra precautions and are on high alert for any movement around their home. They encourage everyone in their neighborhood to do the same.
